Rarely, and by that I mean this is the first one I have seen, do terminal spectrum toned Morgans still have ample luster due to the fact that for a coin to tone up to the terminal spectrum of plum/charcoal, it has progressed through thicker and thicker film of patina enough to refract the light at this spectrum of color. A thicker patina typically results in hindered luster. Well, this stunning coin exhibits a full monochromatic terminal spectrum across the entire obverse and has BOOMING luster. This is a really special coin and a difficult find for the Toned Morgan afficionado who is putting together a monochrome spectrum set or just by those collectors who know a rare toned Morgan when they see one.
